On to Daneborg

After 10 days in Svalbard teaching at a field course and collecting samples near Svea, and a couple of weeks to recuperate in Norway and Iceland, I’m now en route back to Greenland! I left Reykjavik this morning and have spent the day in the Akureyri airport waiting for our flight to Constable Point and on to Daneborg.

I also want to welcome new postdoc Anne-Lise Ducluzeau, who just arrived in Fairbanks and immediately left again to conduct field research in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada. We will be collecting parallel samples from sea ice and melt ponds for the next three weeks, including samples for the international Ocean Sampling Day project on the solstice, June 21.
